Frisco High School guard Blake Evans commits to North Central College
FRISCO, TX — Blake Evans from Frisco High School in Texas and a YB33 Nation standout, has committed to North Central College. A lefty shot maker with deep range, Blake brings reliable three point shooting, downhill creation, and a two way edge that translates. Blake projects as a guard who can space the floor, pressure the rim, and make winning plays as both a scorer and a connector.
“I chose the school because I could instantly see myself being a part of the program,” said Blake. “The coaches are really supportive and their culture really fits the personality that I have. I’m super excited to go to work.”
Deep range shooting and shot creation off the bounce
Blake is a confident lefty shooter who can knock down threes off the catch with a quick release and real range. He also creates his own offense with a strong handle and a variety of moves that get him to the rim, using creative footwork like euro steps and jump stops to finish in traffic. He does a great job playing in straight lines with limited wasted movement, which keeps his scoring efficient and tough to guard.
Two way impact with length, pressure, and playmaking feel
On the defensive end, Blake brings good length at the guard spot, consistent ball pressure, and an aggressive mindset that shows up in the passing lanes. He contains the dribble well and competes to contest shots across all three levels. Offensively, he is a willing and capable passer who routinely generates open threes for teammates and delivers drop off passes for interior finishes, adding a playmaking layer that elevates his overall impact.
National Exposure Through Real Hoops
Blake took a real jump through his work with Real Hoops by diving into film study with CEO Kevin Driscoll. Through consistent breakdowns of pace, shot selection, and decision making, Blake sharpened how he creates advantages off the bounce and how he turns those advantages into efficient scoring or easy looks for teammates. That film work helped him play with even more purpose, tighten the details of his game, and prepare for the speed and physicality he will see at North Central.
Real Hoops CEO Kevin Driscoll on Blake’s commitment
“Blake is a student of the game, and our film work helped him turn good possessions into great ones,” said Kevin Driscoll, CEO of Real Hoops. “He can really shoot it, he can get downhill, and he has the poise to make the right read when defenses collapse. North Central is getting a two way guard who is prepared to impact winning early.”
A major addition for North Central College
Blake gives North Central a versatile guard who can stretch the floor with quick release shooting and attack closeouts to get downhill. His footwork and creativity help him finish plays at the rim, while his passing instincts keep the offense flowing and productive. With his length, pressure defense, and aggressive mentality, he brings the kind of two way presence that helps teams win from day one.
