Bishop Kelly standout Conor Goss commits to Occidental College

BOISE, ID — Conor Goss from Bishop Kelly High School in Idaho has committed to Occidental College. A high motor athlete with real speed, strength, and high-level skill, Conor brings three level scoring, transition explosiveness, and disruptive defense to a program in a elite academic and basketball conference. He arrives with a proven winning resume, including a 5A state championship, tournament MVP honors, and first team all state and first team all conference recognition after averaging 18 points per game in the title run.

Explosive athlete and three level scorer

Conor is a high end athlete who plays fast and finishes with force, including above the rim. He scores from all three levels, knocking down threes off the catch and off the dribble, rising into midrange pull ups with clean elevation, and getting all the way to the rim to finish with either hand. In transition he is a constant problem because of his speed and finishing skill, turning defensive stops into quick points before defenses can set.

Disruptive defender with a relentless motor

Conor impacts games on the defensive end with quick hands, ball pressure, and an aggressive approach in the passing lanes. He competes possession to possession, plays with an extremely high motor, and creates chaos that fuels his team’s pace. That two way intensity is a major reason he consistently contributes to winning, especially in high stakes environments.

National Exposure Through Real Hoops

Conor continued to sharpen his game through film study with Real Hoops CEO Kevin Driscoll, focusing on decision making, pacing, and maximizing his strengths as a scoring guard who can also defend. That film work helped him tighten the details that translate to the college level, from reading advantages in transition to improving shot quality and defensive discipline. The combination of production, athletic tools, and development support helped Conor find an excellent fit at Occidental.

Real Hoops CEO Kevin Driscoll on Conor’s commitment

“Conor is the kind of athlete who changes the game with pace, motor, and toughness, and our film work helped him turn that into even more efficient impact,” said Kevin Driscoll, CEO of Real Hoops. “He can score it at all three levels, he is dangerous in transition, and he disrupts on defense with real urgency. Occidental is getting a winner who is built to compete and keep improving.”

A major addition for Occidental College

Conor gives Occidental an athletic 6 foot 3 guard who can push tempo, score in bunches, and create pressure on both ends. His ability to make shots off the catch and the dribble adds spacing, while his finishing and speed add rim pressure that forces rotations. With his high motor defense and championship level production, he projects as a player who can contribute early and elevate the competitiveness of the program.
